Shawn Porter vs Timothy Bradley is a great fight and it may come to fruition according to the IBF which is in search of an opponent for Kell Brook if Brook can get by Gavin Reese on May 30th. Shawn Porter (25-1-1 16 kos) the former IBF Welterweight champ who lost to Brook may get another crack at him if he can get by Timothy Bradley (31-1-1 12 kos) which would be no easy task.
Both Porter and Bradley are expected to fight in June, so the IBF is looking to build it as an elimination bout. Amir Khan was supposedly offered a Timothy Bradley fight which they rejected leaving the door open for Shawn Porter to step in and face off with the always game Bradley. I have always thought that if these two got together in the ring that these styles would make a hell of a fight. Though Bradley is on Top Rank under Bob Arum and Shawn Porter is under Al Haymon this may pose a particular problem to match the different factions. However, Porter has expressed that he is in good favor with Arum from sparring with Manny Pacquiao in the past. Two tough but classy fighters in Porter and Bradley, and for the general boxing public this would be a great fight if the terms can get worked out. Why not Shawn Porter vs Timothy Bradley in June?
Let Me Re-Introduce Myself: Julian Williams
This is no fluke, and I’m not just talking out of the side of my neck. I speak with unwavering certainty and no diffidence or hesitation present in my conviction. Julian Williams is “That Dude.” With a long lineage of talented Philadelphia fighters the city of Brotherly Love has produced another. Coming off an eighth round knockout over Jamar Freeman last weekend Julian Williams (18-0-1 11 kos) was touted very highly coming up the ranks. His all around skills with presence in the ring mixed with his broadly obvious toughness Williams possess noticeable mannerisms of a true future world champion. In 2013, Williams outpointed and out boxed Joachim Alcine flooring him three times. Then he came right back and seemed to be beating Hugo Centeno Jr. three rounds to none, but a nasty head butt caused a No-Contest. Since then he has knocked out 4 of 5 opponents and winning four fights this year 2014. Williams is a concoction of hand speed, elevated ring IQ, and he can flat out crack. There is a vast amount of young future technicians in the Jr. Middleweight division, and if you are a casual fan you don’t know S#!T about boxing if you don’t know Julian Williams so remember the name.
